How Laser Vein Removal Works

It depends on the vein rather than on preference. Larger leg veins generally respond better to sclerotherapy, because the solution reaches the full length of the vessel in a way surface laser energy cannot. Very fine vessels, and facial veins in particular, are better treated with laser — facial veins are not treated with sclerotherapy.
Plenty of patients need both, and there is no problem combining them: sclerotherapy for the larger feeding veins first, then laser to clear the fine surface threads that remain. Treating in that order matters, because clearing the surface while leaving a larger vein untreated tends to mean the fine vessels return.
What Sclerotherapy Involves
